Representing victims of brain injury caused by motorcycle crashes is an important part of our practice for the brain injury attorneys at De Caro & Kaplen, LLP

Motorcycle accidents are a frequent cause of traumatic brain injuries and spinal cord injuries.

If you have been injured in a New York motorcycle accident, the brain injury attorneys at the New York brain injury firm of De Caro & Kaplen, LLP, can assist you.

Last year over 6,686,147 motorcycles were registered within the United States and the number of registrants has been steadily increasing by at least 7% each year since 2003 according to the NHTSA. Consequently the NHTSA also reported that nation-wide last year there were 103,000 motorcycle injuries that did not result in a fatality. These unfortunate facts ensure that New York Brain Injury Lawyers have no shortage of work.

The most common injuries as a result of a motorcycle accident are traumatic brain injury and spinal cord injury. These injuries occur to many motorcycle riders despite their use of a motorcycle helmet.

Many, if not most motorcycle accidents are caused by the negligence of other vehicles on the road. Inattention, poor judgment and failure to yield the right of way to the motorcyclist are frequent causes of collisions between cars and motorcycles.

If you have been involved in a motorcycle accident in New York which was caused by no fault of you own, contacting the New York brain injury attorneys at De Caro & Kaplen, LLP is the first step to ensure that you are able to obtain the compensation that you deserve.

Wear a Helmet and Reduce the Risk of Head and Brain Injury:

The National Transportation Safety Board has recommended that all states require motorcyclists and their passengers to wear helmets. Twenty states have laws requiring all motorcycle riders to wear helmets, while 27 states have laws that require minors or passengers to wear head protection. Iowa, Illinois and New Hampshire have no helmet laws.

Fortunately, New York State requires that all motorcyclists wear a helmet.

If you have been involved in a New York motorcycle accident that resulted in traumatic brain injury or spinal cord injury, you may to seek the legal advice of New York brain injury lawyers to assess your situation and review a potential claim.
